The Museum of Science seeks to recruit, hire, develop, promote, and retain individuals from racially and culturally diverse backgrounds and persons with disabilities. We strive to create and sustain a more affirming environment for all staff, interns, volunteers, trustees and overseers. We value expertise gained at the Museum and encourage professional development and career growth.

Our internship program offers internships in trimesters: fall, spring, and summer. Interns work throughout the Museum on a wide variety of projects and tasks. In previous trimesters, our interns have assisted in the Live Animal Center, helped create curriculum for the National Center for Technological Literacy, designed print material for our publications department, and interpreted exhibits in our Exhibit Hall interpretation department, among many other tasks. An internship at the Museum of Science is an excellent way to gain hands-on experience in a specific area of interest or field of study.

To learn more about the internship program, please read our frequently asked questions.

In order to be considered for an internship, the following material is needed:

  • A cover letter describing academic and career goals, personal interests, and why you would like to intern at the Museum of Science.
