Reciprocal Institution Members Visiting the Museum

If you hold a valid membership card from any science center, museum, zoo, or aquarium listed on the reciprocity page, you receive free Exhibit Halls admission when you visit the Museum of Science. Your valid membership card admits the number of people permitted by your home institution, up to a maximum of four individuals, one of whom must be named on the membership card. Children under the age of 3 are free.

Reciprocation benefits apply to Exhibit Halls admission only, and do not include the Mugar Omni Theater, Planetarium, 3-D Digital Cinema, Butterfly Garden, special exhibits and programs, or any other benefits or discounts reserved for Museum of Science members.

To take advantage of reciprocal admission benefits, you must have your membership card and a photo ID with you when you visit the Museum of Science. Reciprocating institutions do not have access to one another's membership lists, and we are not able to make outgoing calls to verify your membership status.

If you do not have your valid membership card with you, ask your membership department to provide verification which clearly indicates your name, address, membership level, and expiration date in one of the following forms:

  • A letter on the institution's letterhead faxed to 617-589-0363
  • An email from the institution's verifiable email address to membership@mos.org
  • A telephone call to 617-589-0180 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., seven days a week

Prior to your visit you may wish to confirm our receipt of your membership verification. When you arrive at the Museum, bring your photo ID to the Membership Booth (open 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily).

If you have additional questions about the reciprocation policies of the Museum of Science, please call 617-589-0180 between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., seven days a week.
