Every day, the Museum offers a number of live demonstrations, most of which are free with Exhibit Halls admission. A current listing of live presentations is below. Check the Museum's daily schedule for presentation times on a given date.

Adventures in Archaeology (Live Presentation)

Look back in time to discover the challenges that archaeologists face as they reconstruct the past. (details).

Alternative Energy (Live Presentation)

Investigate wind, solar, and nuclear power, as well as hydrogen, ethanol and biodiesel fuels. (details).

Amazing Nano Brothers Juggling Show (Live Presentation)

Join Dan and Joel as they jiggle and juggle their way through the mysteries of the atomic world and learn how to "see" the unseeable through scanning probe microscopy. Watch out for flying birdbaths and eight-foot unicycles. Who knew nanoscale physics and chemistry could be this much fun? (details).

Electricity! (Live Presentation)

Learn about the connections between electric and magnetic forces with this high-voltage presentation. Witness a demonstration of lightning created by the world's largest air-insulated Van de Graaff generator. (details).

Iceman Mystery (Live Presentation)

Frozen in a glacier for over 5000 years, Otzi the Iceman was found in 1991 in the Italian Alps. The manner of his death was a mystery, but new evidence suggests that he was murdered. We use modern techniques to investigate an ancient crime scene. (details).

Is the Cure for Cancer Within? (Live Presentation)

How does cancer grow? How can we make it shrink? Can we find the answer within our own bodies? (details).

Lightning! (Live Presentation)

Indoor bolts produced by the world's largest air-insulated Van de Graaff generator spark exciting explorations of lightning, electric charge, and storm safety. (details).

Live Animal Presentation (Live Presentation)

With help from members of the Museum's live animal collection, our knowledgeable staff address behaviors, environments, classification, and adaptations. Students will observe a live animal and be exposed to characteristics of the animal and adaptations that help the animal live in its environment ... (details).

Motel of the Mysteries (Live Presentation)

Discover how archaeological interpretation can greatly influence our understanding of the past. This presentation is part of the Museum's celebration of Massachusetts Archaeology Month. (details).

Nanotechnology Today (Live Presentation)

The science of tiny things is big news. Join us for the latest research in nanotechnology. (details).

Our Bodies, Our Health (Live Presentation)

Hear about exciting health research on topics such as obesity, cancer, nanomedicine, and stem cells. (details).

Science Live! (Live Presentation)

A rotating schedule of live scientific discovery. (details).

Stem Cell Science (Live Presentation)

Stem cell research is hot news again! Is it really possible to create stem cells without an egg or an embryo? Come and find out what this means for human health. (details).

Super-Cold Science (Live Presentation)

When temperature goes extreme, see materials break all the rules. Liquid nitrogen produces remarkable state or pressure alterations in substances when they get super cold. Find out how such extreme temperatures can cause materials to undergo dramatic changes. (details).

Technology in Our Lives (Live Presentation)

Technology is all around us, but what exactly is it? Come and find out how tech savvy you are! (details).

The Research Wrap (Live Presentation)

Delve into the latest science, technology, and engineering topics in this ever-changing presentation. (details).

Updates in Current Science and Technology (Live Presentation)

Join us for updates in the science and technology that we hear about in the news, read about in research journals, and see emerging in our society. (details).
